Often yes, with a shifted set. The eight tiers also suit other eight-pair combinations that start higher, so long as the heads still clear the tier above. Heavier sets tend to have wider heads, so if your set runs past 40 lb, contact us with the brand and weights and we will confirm the fit before you order.
No. The inside handle space is 4.32", which is generous enough to fit your hand under a dumbbell handle (typically 5" or more) without pinching. We designed extra clearance into this rack specifically to avoid the pinch issue you'll find on cheaper racks.
Yes. The rack is engineered to bear its load through the floor, not through the wall or rack mount. The mount itself acts as a stability anchor that keeps the rack from tipping forward. That makes the install safer (no risk of overloading a wall mount) and lighter on your mounting surface.
This mount is optimized for traditional hex dumbbells, whose flat faces sit stable in the cradles. Round and urethane dumbbells often fit but get snug at the heavier end, where the heads are widest. If you own a round or urethane set, look at the Alpha Elite Wall Mount, which is built with the wider cradles those sets need.
