Yes. This is the Elite frame, built for five pairs in the 50 to 120 lb range. The cradles are wider and spaced further apart than a standard mount, which is what lets big heavy dumbbells sit properly on every tier instead of only the bottom one.
We recommend a maximum dumbbell head diameter of 9 inches, measured across the widest point of the face. That is the size that gives you comfortable clearance on every tier. Heads larger than 9 inches may still rack if you do not mind a tighter fit, so treat this as our recommendation rather than a hard limit.
No. The inside handle space is 4.32", which is generous enough to fit your hand under a dumbbell handle (typically 5" or more) without pinching. We designed extra clearance into this rack specifically to avoid the pinch issue you'll find on cheaper racks.
Yes. The rack is engineered to bear its load through the floor, not through the wall or rack mount. The mount itself acts as a stability anchor that keeps the rack from tipping forward. That makes the install safer (no risk of overloading a wall mount) and lighter on your mounting surface.
Round and urethane dumbbells are exactly what this frame is built for. The Elite cradles are wider than a standard mount, so hex and round both sit properly. Stay at or under a 9 inch head diameter with a handle of 5 inches or more. Pro-style and other non-standard shapes vary a lot, so contact us before ordering if that is your set.
