Nothing you already own goes to waste: the uprights, shelves and attachments from the vertical build all carry across, and you add the width. Black is the only color available for the entire rack. If you choose any other color, it is applied to the uprights and the sides. The shelves always remain black regardless of what you pick.

Measure your wall first, then decide by how much you want to store. The 70 inch build gives you considerably more shelf per tier; the 43 inch fits where the wider one will not.
