Two Mounting Configurations
The shelf mounts two ways, which is what lets one part handle kettlebells, dumbbells or medicine balls. Choose the configuration that suits whatever you are actually storing on it.

43 inches or 70 inches, matched to your rack. The wider shelf also carries the higher rating, so if you have the width the larger one is the stronger option as well as the roomier one.
Open Storage for Awkward Shapes
Medicine balls and kettlebells do not sit on a tiered rack. A flat shelf is the one surface that takes the round and awkward things a storage rack otherwise has nowhere to put.

This one is published rather than estimated: 800 pounds on the 43 inch shelf and 1,000 pounds on the 70 inch shelf.

That is per shelf, and it is why the 11 gauge steel matters. Most storage parts do not carry a stated rating; this one does.
Match it to your rack width first. If both fit, the 70 inch gives you more surface and a higher rating, at 1,000 pounds against 800.
Kettlebells, dumbbells and medicine balls. The two mounting configurations exist so the same shelf works for different loads, and a flat surface is the only sensible home for round objects like med balls.

Once these things are bolted down they hold all of the necessary KBs for our gym! With a little room to spare for the smaller dumbbells in the corner.

Next Level Add-On

The flat shelf add-on levels up the look of these shelves. Not only can they be used for storage of things more than just dumbbells, I’m also protecting fingers from unnecessary pinching while racking weights. I’d say I’d order more in the future but I won’t have to. These shelves are bomb proof.
